Lantmännen Unibake UK has become the newest member of the Federation of Bakers (FoB), the trade association representing the UK's largest baking companies.

The Swedish-headquartered group operates 34 bakeries across 21 countries and supplies products to more than 60 markets worldwide. In the UK, it runs two bakeries, employs over 500 people and serves both retail and foodservice customers.

Membership of the FoB gives the company access to government and regulatory representation, technical and legislative updates and a forum for knowledge-sharing with other major manufacturers. The Federation currently represents 11 full member companies operating 31 bakeries across the UK, alongside 31 associate members from the wider supply chain.

Andrew Pyne, Chief Executive of the Federation of Bakers, said the company's scale and international experience would "bring significant value to our membership and further strengthen our voice on behalf of the UK bakery industry."

Wendy Smith, Managing Director of Lantmännen Unibake UK, said joining the FoB would allow the business to "play an active role in championing the UK bakery industry."
