Sveba Dahlen has been appointed Main Skill Sponsor for the bakery competition at EuroSkills 2025, Europe's premier championship for young professionals. The event takes place in Herning, Denmark, from 9-13 September, with competition days running from 10-12 September.
The Competition
Young bakers from 14 countries will compete: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Portugal. Throughout the competition, participants will use Sveba Dahlen's D-Series deck ovens (D32E) and F-Series proofers (F200D).
The D32E deck ovens provide precise temperature control and modular design for different baking configurations, whilst the F200D proofers maintain optimal proving conditions. Both are designed for intensive commercial use with intuitive controls - essential for competitors working under time pressure with complex recipes.
Sustainability and Skills
EuroSkills 2025 emphasises green transition within vocational training. Sveba Dahlen's energy-efficient equipment incorporates heat recovery systems and improved insulation to reduce consumption during commercial baking operations.
The event attracts up to 100,000 visitors, including young people considering careers in skilled trades.
EuroSkills features 600 participants from 32 countries competing across 38 different skills.
Supporting Future Bakers
Sveba Dahlen's involvement extends beyond equipment provision. The company operates an annual scholarship programme for Swedish vocational college students studying bakery and pastry arts, providing financial assistance and industry mentorship.
The bakery competition tests technical skills including dough handling, shaping techniques, baking timing and product presentation. Competitors must demonstrate competency across different bread types using commercial-scale equipment, mirroring real bakery environments where technical expertise directly impacts product quality and business success.
