Rademaker, the Netherlands-based bakery processing solutions provider, has recently made two significant strategic moves to strengthen its innovation capabilities in the bakery equipment sector. The company has acquired Danish manufacturer Form & Frys Maskinteknik and established a partnership with Italian vision inspection specialist Sensure.

Form & Frys Acquisition Expands Specialised Tooling Capabilities

In April 2025, Rademaker completed the acquisition of Form & Frys Maskinteknik, a Danish company renowned for its advanced bakery equipment. Form & Frys has built a strong reputation for engineering excellence in shaping complex pastry and pizza products through innovative tooling systems.

The acquisition follows a two-year commercial partnership between the companies, which demonstrated positive results and aligned organisational ambitions. What makes this acquisition particularly valuable is how Form & Frys' machinery complements Rademaker's existing pastry and pizza production lines. Several joint projects combining technologies from both companies have already been successfully implemented for customers.

Form & Frys also brings a unique range of depositing equipment to the partnership. These systems are capable of applying both savoury and sweet fillings in three-dimensional forms onto dough pieces produced on Rademaker lines, adding another dimension to product possibilities.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Form & Frys will continue to operate independently under its current management in Denmark. The initial transition phase will focus on maintaining operational continuity while identifying synergies in processes and product development.

Strategic Partnership with Sensure Advances Digital Capabilities

Alongside the acquisition, Rademaker has entered into a strategic partnership with Sensure, an Italian company specialising in advanced vision inspection systems. Rademaker has reinforced this collaboration by becoming a minority shareholder in Sensure.

Sensure's technology leverages artificial intelligence and self-learning capabilities to provide sophisticated quality control solutions for bakery production. With more than 150 installations worldwide, their systems support a range of industrial applications, including automated quality control with rejection of non-compliant products, real-time monitoring and analytics for process improvement, and optimised robot pick and place operations through vision guidance.

These solutions are particularly valuable for producers of highly variable products such as biscuits, bread, pastries, pizza and snack bars. Sensure's comprehensive support includes expert consultation, remote and on-site assistance, helpdesk services and spare parts management.

For Rademaker, this partnership represents an opportunity to accelerate the development of digital products and services, enhancing the company's capabilities in data-driven manufacturing solutions.

Industry Showcase Planned for IBA 2025

Visitors to IBA 2025 will have the opportunity to see these new collaborative technologies in action. Rademaker plans to showcase the integration of Sensure's system at the infeed of the Rademaker Robot, demonstrating how data-driven inspection can seamlessly integrate with production solutions.

Evolution of Bakery Equipment Integration

These strategic moves illustrate how bakery equipment manufacturing continues to evolve, with increasing emphasis on integration between mechanical systems, advanced tooling and digital technologies. For bakery manufacturers, such integrations promise improved product quality, production efficiency and manufacturing flexibility.

As bakery products become more diverse and quality expectations continue to rise, these technological collaborations may point the way towards future developments in industrial baking. By bringing together complementary technologies and expertise, equipment providers like Rademaker aim to address the complex challenges facing modern bakery production.
