The Craft Bakers Association has appointed Ivor McKane as President Elect, bringing over 30 years of baking industry experience to the position.
McKane's career includes senior positions at Unilever and CSM Ingredients, where he served as Sales Director & Country Delegate. His industry involvement extends beyond commercial roles, with previous leadership positions including President of the Association of Bakery Ingredient Manufacturers (ABIM), President of the Association of Bakery Students & Trainees (ABST) and Chairman of Craft Bakers Week.
He holds membership as a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Bakers, reflecting his commitment to traditional baking practices alongside industry modernisation.
McKane's appointment comes at a time when the craft baking sector faces evolving market demands whilst maintaining artisanal standards. His extensive background in both ingredients supply and industry association leadership positions him to address the sector's commercial and educational priorities.
The Craft Bakers Association represents independent and artisanal bakeries across the UK, focusing on skills development, business support and maintaining traditional baking methods within modern commercial frameworks.
