Compleat Foodservice has commissioned a new cookie production line at its Crewe manufacturing site, backed by a £600,000 capital investment. The line is designed specifically for higher-specification products, supporting larger-format and filled cookies, a broader range of inclusions (large chocolate chunks, confectionery pieces) and a soft, chewy finished texture.
The company, which already supplies cookies to major UK quick-service restaurant brands and retailers, says the addition will increase overall cookie output by more than 30%. Commercially, it is forecasting a 28% increase in value between April 2026 and March 2027, citing sustained retailer and foodservice demand for premium sweet bakery.
Beyond volume, the new line is intended to give Compleat Foodservice greater flexibility across formats, sizes and recipe configurations, enabling faster development of bespoke products. Flavour combinations cited include white chocolate and miso, milk chocolate and salted caramel, triple chocolate, and oat and raisin.
Compleat Foodservice sits within The Compleat Food Group, a multi-site manufacturer with an annual turnover of £1.4bn and more than 6,300 employees across 18 UK sites. The group's bakery interests include Wrights, which is marking its centenary in 2026.
